Stud Fees Etc

I would love breeders input. If someone used your stud dog and u agreed to do a swap mating instead of stud fee but at time your bitch came in dog wasn't available due to breeder not using him yet. Then you have changed you mind on using him as you have other plans etc and can line breed instead of a total outcross. Is it fair to ask for stud fee instead of a swap mating?

It should have all been in writing from the start as now it gets messy.

Dog is not being used yet (for whatever reason).

You then changed your mind as you have other plans - line breed instead of a total outcross.

I do not think it would be fair to ask for a stud fee, you said you changed your mind....

Breeder uses your dog at stud in exchange for you being allowed to use a particular one of her dogs at stud..

You change your mind and decide not to use that dog..

As far as I can tell; you ARE allowed to use that dog at stud, you've just chosen not to.
