cass_06
I am trying to find out the ruling for distance to see if challenges (points) are counted if there is a speciality on. I can not seem to find the ruling of the distance. Would be greatly appreciated if someone knows
capanash
In Victoria the ruling is no CCs for the State unless the Specialty show is held at the same grounds. For a National no CCs within a 1000km radius of the venue.
klink
As far as the question re distance for cc when speciality shows are on I think it varies from state to state. I find it very strange that we appear to have two distinct breed types and only a single standard for a breed.Rottweilers' are a classic example , we have a speciality dog , and an all breeds dog. very strange. I thought that all breeds only had one standard. However it is quite common for these speciality dogs to obtain their titles at obviously inferior shows ( all breeds ) to gain the title of Champion. I guess this would apply to many other breeds as well.

Megz, I cant' understand how you have taken my comments' to be "bagging " all breed shows, to the contary I was bagging specialist shows and trying to point out that many people who swear by the specialst shows, quite often use the all breed shows to title their dogs'because they find it difficult, if not impossible to title at specialist shows. The statements made re the standard was to point out that to my knowledge every breed only has one standard, not an all breed one and a specialist one. Over 30years I have seen the breed to which I referred become distant from mainstream shows, sadly at the expense of the breed, going down their own trail and bagging all breed shows. When was the last time you saw a large Rottweiler entry at an all breed show.?

Dracdog
I found this in the Qld Rule Book 30.where an Agricultural Show clashes with a Breed Club Show within 100 Km. of the CCC(Q) Dog Showgrounds at Durack, no Challenge Certificates will be awarded at the Agricultural Show for that breed
