Mason_Gibbs Posted July 9, 2011 Author Share Posted July 9, 2011 (edited) Yeah but the vet will want to see the dog and the owners wont want to pay me back for the vet consult. I would normally not care but i have had some isdues with my own dog and am $1000 out of pocket atm so until Petplan pay me back i am broke. Mason_Gibbs Posted July 9, 2011 Author Share Posted July 9, 2011 The other issue is that the dog has never been to the vet for anything besides desexing so i cant ring up and ask for help when the vet does not know the dog. sumosmum Posted July 9, 2011 Share Posted July 9, 2011 This is a link to a chart, showing dog and cat dosage rates for antihistamines. You need to work it out by weight. But, I wouldn't be medicating another persons dog without vet advice. Also, some medication is not to be cut or broken. With a Chix I would think that it would be a very small dose, so you would need to check with the vet or chemist if the tablets are able to be cut. His owners did say i could try the antihistamines as he has had this problem here in may when he stayed for a weekend. I still asked them to find out how much to give him etc but they never did.
