Poo & Kennels

I take my hat off to people who own / manage commercial kennels.

Im looking after two dogs at the moment for a fella that had to go down south for a fortnight. My dogs never shit in the kennel. I let them out in the morning and they run out in to the paddock for their dump session. Same thing in the arvo.

These two dogs are like 3 times a day. So im hosing the kennel out twice a day. It STINKS.. Cannot believe the amount of smell.

Not sure how everyone else deals with this, but i might think twice next time i offer a kennel out.

If they have never been kenneled before and are not trained, then you really can't expect much from them. They are quite possibly stressed by the experience and if you've changed their diet, that will also impact on the number of times they toilet each day.

Take them out every couple of hours and they will soon get the idea.

I once worked in a dog kennel and the owners had Dalmatians and they pooed a lot.

I was bending down one day while I was cleaning their kennel and one of them decided to jump on me and I promptly fell backwards in the poo pies.

It's not so bad if the waste isn't sloppy and stinky... *grin*

yep, depends on the food too, good quality fresh raw carcasses/meat with some biccies = less poop. Poor quality "dog food" 'wet/dry' = more stinky poop ;)
