Vickie
Does anyone know if it's possible to take main or limited registered dog and reregister it as an Associate?
Ptolomy
MY friend did - she had a main register BC and had a huge disagreement with the breeder - so she reregistered him as an associate with a pet name, but was upfront with Dogswest and was able to take all his obedience titles with him. Janba
Regulations re tthe associate register would vary from state to state. I imagine the dog would have to be deregistered from the MR/LR then regestistered on the AR From DogsNSW registraion regulations Voluntary De-registration17.1 An application for de-registration of a dog will not be accepted unless: (a) the application is made by all persons then shown as registered owners, and (b) the registered owners have been registered as the owners for a period of not less than 3 years, or © where the registered owners have been registered as owners for a period of less than 3 years, the application is accompanied by written evidence acceptable to the Board of Directors of the consent of the previous registered owners to the proposed de-registration. and Registration - The Associate Register4.1 A dog shall only be eligible for registration in the associate register if: (a) it is ineligible for registration in the main register or the limited register; I think a person would have to write to the Board asking for permission for it to be done and giving a good reason as to why the person wanted it done. No much help I know. Edited June 24, 2011 by Janba
Mrs Rusty Bucket
Would the dog have to be desexed as well? I think that's how it works if you want to register a dog of unknown breeding for dogs sports in SA.
