mumtoshelley
Hi everyone I own a 5 year old male chihuahua named Rascal he has a problem with barking at almost everything, I did seem to have it under control until my auntie moved in with her barking dog. Since she moved in Rascal has began barking again, He won't listen to me when I tell him quiet, before my auntie moved in I just had to say arh no barking and he would stop. So my auntie is the main problem with his barking, Is there anything I can do to minermize his barking. I was thinking when he barks put him outside and don't let him in till his quiet, My auntie has a bad habbit of baby talking to him and her dog eg saying "darling please don't bark" in a soft tone baby voice which Rascal and her dog Lady do not listen too. I was thinking of getting one of those viberation dog collars but not sure if it would work. My aunties dog also seems to trigger Rascals barking, Lady my aunties dog even barks at some noises coming from the television. Also how can I get him too walk past other dogs without being scared? When he sees another dog he stops dead in his tracks. If I put him onlead he pulls backwards trying his best not to walk past the other dog. I think I may have to get his eyes checked cause on our walks when Shelley is up front Rascal stops, He then looks like he doesn't reconise Shelley like she is a strange dog to him. I then have to call him to me which he comes, then finally reconises Shelley. Also at times he loses me at the oval eg I could be walking say a meter in front and he doesn't know its me till I call him.
