asha54
Hi all, I am brand new to this forum, and interested to get your ideas. We have a new business running and require an experienced groomer. After many ads, we cannot seem to find someone who is experienced. We are located about 10km out of Melbourne. Any ideas on where we could look for someone? Clyde
http://www.facebook.com/home.php?sk=group_5839043082 http://australianpetgroomer.forumotion.net/ and PIAA website. Very hard to find good experienced groomers who aren't already working for themselves. Good luck
WreckitWhippet
Good luck with the search. I know of lots of grooming positions that are avialable and have been very difficult to fill. Would you consider training someone and paying them well, in order to keep them ? Lots of groomers won't work for someone else, as the pay is generally poor. Clyde
What are people paying experienced groomers these days I wonder?
animalia
you might have to hire someone who is less experienced and train them up or call dog grooming schools to see if they have any students that have just finished
Rascalmyshadow
What area is the job located in?
asha54
Thanks for all of your suggestions so far! We have a couple of extra places to look. Generally (based on experience), groomers are paid $20-$30 per hour. I guess this is why a lot prefer to work for themselves rather than for someone else. We might need to look at training someone as suggested. We are located in Fairfield, VIC :-)
