Can Anyone Give Me A Review Of Kepala Pet Resort?

Hi guys,

So I've got my lovely Spike booked in to stay at Kepala Pet Resort next week for a 6 night stay. This will be the first time I've left him in a boarding kennel since I adopted him from the Lost Dogs Home 4 years ago (he was 8 weeks old at that time). I booked Kepala months ago on the recommendation of two work colleagues and have never doubted it is one of the best facilities available here in Melbourne.

However, I suppose the stress of leaving him for the first time is starting to build up in me and I just wanted to hear from anyone here who has had any prior experiences with Kepala (I've got Spike booked into one the Boutique Suites but would appreciate hearing from anyone whose used the Resort at all). I'm just so worried that he'll feel he's been abandoned again when I leave him there - he's never spent more than a couple of hours alone and has always had someone around him at all other times (he's a 100% inside dog).

So guys - any reviews and/or suggestions of how I can reduce his (and my) stress, both leading up to next week and once we come home again would be so welcomed (e.g. is it a good idea for me to take him out there this weekend to familiarise him with the surrounds or should i go by myself; how do I go about re-acclimatising him to our normal routine when our trip is over??)

Thanks in advance,

We have left our dogs and cats there a few times - the last time was last year for 3 weeks when we went to Europe. Kepala are pretty good with keeping routine. It might not be your dogs routine but they are pretty good and will let you know before hand what sort of routine the dogs get. Our kids came home nice and clean too. :)

We've also used the resort facilities many times, they are excellent.

I haven't used them as a boarding facility as they won't take one of my dogs (they won't facilitate her medications).

But their recreational facilities are great, we go there often in the warmer months!

I do have 2 friends who regularly (a couple of times a year) board their dogs there and they love it! Dogs are always happy to stay ther eand come back looking great.

I had a look at their standard runs and have to say I probably wouldn't leave my girls in them but I'm pretty fussy (also having an ex-shelter dog like her to not be in runs that might be reminiscent of the shelter), however the ones that are next step up I reckon would be pretty good (that's the sort my friends always use).

Lovely staff out there!
