Undershot Bite In Cavalier

I certainly have never owned a Cav but I do spend an awful lot of my time with them! :D I have seen a Cav youngster's mouth change dramatically in short period of time. It depends on how badly the mouth is undershot - ie, just or a lot!

I dont ever look in baby's mouths when judging - because if I was to do that an apply the dentition rule, no baby would ever be awarded anything!!!!!! They hardly have full dentition :eek:

I would be "watchful" with a 12 week old baby Cav, but I certainly would not be throwing the baby out with the bath water. They really can take until they are 18 months..

Thank you to everybody who has replied. Your comments have been most helpful. As I have waited for this girl for about 8-9 months it is hard to contemplate sending her back. The breeder did offer me this but like alot of you cav breeders have said their mouths can and will change dramatically as they grow, and I know that. I am going to run her on in the ring as she needs the experience and then assess her at 6 months old. Yes alot of nail biting going on here!!! :( :( My vet came around to have a look and she told me it is "just" undershot, not out by much. That gives me a glimmer of hope :) It is just a waiting game now.
