pinkpuppy
g'day can someone tell me the rules with prefix's. I have a prefix regisited for one breed of dog. If I want to start another breed do i need to get a new prefix for that breed or do I need to add a breed to my current prefix or doesnt it matter at all? griff
Just stay with the one . I am pretty sure you dont need to have 2 Prefix.
cassie
No you can just have the one, I know of some breeders with a single prefix who breed two breeds.
Kia
no you don't need to have another prefix for another breed unless you want to. Many breeders have had several breeds over many years using only one prefix.
huga
As above. You can have two (one for each breed) if you want though. But then it's double the maintenance etc.
rajacadoo
Yep you can have 2 if you want to... We have 2, the first is Rajacadoo, for our Cattle Dogs, and we aso have Langarni for the Basenji's... Yes its double the price/maintenance, but Im happy with the 2 ;) ...
pinkpuppy
thanks for the info guys. If I only have the one prefix, do I need to advise our kennel club of the added breed? Or can I just register pups under that prefix?
Andisa
thanks for the info guys. If I only have the one prefix, do I need to advise our kennel club of the added breed? Or can I just register pups under that prefix? You only need the one prefix but as said you can chose more if you want - but personally I find it easier having only one. Just send in your forms and all will be fine.
