Why Are Ankc Agility Nationals Held Bi-yearly?

As the title says, why are ANKC agility nationals held bi-yearly opposed to yearly like international agility organizations (AKC, USDAA etc)? Also for ADAA people, are your nationals held every year?

Because of the amount of time and effort it takes to organise them. Its a heap of effort that falls on the shoulders of a handful of people in each state. Trying for every year when not every State is running one would be too much of an ask.

I'm still scarred from the ACT one - and that was ages ago.

I think folk were also concerned about whether everyone would travel if it was once a year.

Ain't that the truth!!!

Uh huh. The people who do the ADAA nationals and GP seriously deserve a medal. Not taking away from the Nationals, just that I know them.

The nationals is sooooo much bigger and would have to be more work. Annually would just be too much.

I thought that may have been the case. Thanks :)

I thought I had heard something about them also considering a Trans-Tasman thing on the alternate years with people going to NZ to compete (and them coming here) and they didn't want that clashing with a year that had a nationals. I may have it completely wrong as I didn't have much to do with the sport at that time and I haven't heard of any Trans-Tasman comp happening yet.
