Hi guys,

So I decided I was going to take my pup to a groomer in Surry Hills, but after driving to the area the other day and going around in circles for 15 minutes trying to find a parking spot :mad I've decided to head East instead.

I'm tossing up between Paws About in Coogee and A Dapper Dog in Maroubra.

Can anyone comment on either of these places?? I want to get pup in soon after he arrives (this Friday!! :D ) so I can get him used to the grooming process (as a poodle, it's very necessary as you would all know!)

Thanks guys, appreciate any advice :)

(Of course if there are any others people can highly recommend I will certainly check them out also :) )

I haven't used either of those places. I would recommend...

Wagging Tails (http://www.waggingtails.com.au/) - Angela is absolutely wonderful. It might be a little far though. She is excellent with puppies and very well trained. If I could still get there easily I would continue going to her above all others.

I have tried Dogue in Bondi Junction - it is okay but I stopped going there as they kept having puppies in the store (and I prefer to avoid pet shops with puppies in them).

I have also used Paddo Pets (http://www.paddopets.com.au/) who are very nice and they seem to be quite good groomers.

There is a VetMed grooming salon in Randwick that I have heard good things about.

Remember generally not a good idea to take a puppy for grooming before they have been fully vaccinated.

The main draw for me is (1) no puppies in the store, (2) no cage dryers, (3) willing to follow my instructions (i.e. If I say leave the top knot that means leave the top knot alone)

I have now bought my own clippers as I want to groom her myself.

Thanks Malteseluna.

I will check out paddopets, and we're actually going to VetMed for puppy school next week so will sus out their grooming salon too.

I know you need to be careful with dogs before their vaccinations but I've read so many things on here about how you have to get your pup used to the groomer as soon as you get them that now I'm confused....... ??
