Red Fox
More than a dozen dogs in England have mysteriously collapsed and died in similar circumstances after they were taken for a walk along a popular country pathway. Three pets were left seriously ill, and 13 dogs have died last week after they were walked down a footpath in the Cross Hills, North Yorkshire, the <A href="http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1392352/Police-probe-13-dogs-poisoned-death-country-footpath.html#ixzz1NrdLS4Jm">Daily Mail reports. Some owners said their dogs keeled over within 10 minutes of returning from their walk. They began frothing at the mouth and convulsing. The RSPCA said the dogs' symptoms suggested they had been poisoned. Authorities have cordoned off the footpath while they conduct their investigation. RSPCA Animal welfare officer Sally Ramsden told the Mail they had not ruled out the possibility the dogs were being deliberately targeted. Dog owners are warning other walkers through Facebook and Twitter to stay away from the path until further notice.
Keira&Phoenix
That is just horrible. And if it is deliberate that is just so much worse. RIP Poor Doggies
skyesblue
This is a horrible story. I cant believe people would do this on purpose!! I work for a vet and a couple of years ago we had the same thing happen in one street. 6 - 7 dogs from memory died and it was found that they were baited with stricknine (i think thats how it is spelt). The police investigated however did not ever find out who did it. Some people are scum!
aussielover
HOw awful! My parents are walking in Yorkshire at the moment- luckily they are dogless for now. At least the authorities seem to be taking it seriously, unlike here in australia where they basically turn a blind eye or do a half-assed ninvestigation out of obligation.
