Hunterhound
Hi I would like to find accommodation in Gulgong or surrounding areas for 4th & 5th August. I would like just a self contained room for one or two nights that will allow a crated dog inside. I have tried 3 different caravan parks & 2 won't allow dogs & Henry Lawson Caravan Park is apparently already booked for the Dog Show weekend. Any suggestions would be appreciated. If I can't get accommodation then unfortunately I won't be able to go, which would be a great shame. Thanks for any assistance!! Cheers

Libertybrook
there is the Gulgong Motel, its not flash but they take dog show people, I dont think the Ten Dollar Motel take dog people anymore but you could try, or you could try the Prince of Wales Pub or the Cenntenial Pub they may take dog people, other than that you will have to try Mudgee, its only 20 minutes or so back to Gulgong, not sure which places will takes dogs anymore though, thanks to previous dog people wearing out their welcome plus its getting harder to find accomodation in the area with all the contractors staying from the mines etc, and yes the Henry Lawson caravan park is usually booked from one year to the next by exhibitors as they are one of the few places that allow dogs. there is camping allowed at the grounds but no power. if I can get a list of places I will post it on here if that helps. Thanks for the info.....I will check a few of those out! I only want somewhere to sleep for the night that will also allow my hound in a crate. I do not like the idea of her sleeping in the car by herself and I think it will be far too cold for me to sleep in the van...it's not set up at all for camping! I have tried a few in Mudgee & I keep coming receiving the same reply....NO DOGS due to health regualtions...blah blah blah...
mollipop
We camp on the grounds. There are showers and toilets there. Could you borrow a small tent and snuggle up with your dog.
