What Silly Thing Will Your Dog Do For A Treat?

If both dogs are home ... the youngest runs to his puppy pen and sits inside when I bring out the food treats.

He is used to being put in his puppy pen to eat (older dog is food agressive so they are fed seperately) ... so he thinks if he is already waiting then he will get it sooner.

My boys are not very food motivated ...

When myself or my wife get home from work Boonie will run and grab his empty Kong - wait at the door, once it's open he'll run to where his treats/food and Kong are kept - will wait for me to take it out of his mouth and put it away and then he gets a treat. Every day without fail. It's good for us as we don't have to go searching for it.

when we're out for a walk, and my evil hound detects a person carrying food (or dog treats) she will bark at them, do the paddle dance, if she gets any encouragement she sometimes jumps on them (tho she goes straight on lead if she does that), and then she goes through every trick she knows, drop, sit, drop, roll over, stand, sit, paddle, rooo rooo, etc. And the hand head butt, ie she head butts the hand holding the treat to get it.

She doesn't do any of this to me. She does come and do a nice heel-sit, or a fast recall-drop for me.

Paddle is when she tap dances with her front feet while in a sit or drop position.

OH once told Erik to roll over when he was balanced on a log. I was about to say "That's cruel!" when Erik did it anyway. Luckily it was a log partially buried in the ground, so Erik didn't fall far and still managed to complete the roll with half his body on the log. He's a keen bean, that one. OH taught him to do a "combat roll" by cueing roll over when he was running.
