Well my morning start off not too crash hot as big Market umbrella that was put up for the judges took flight and flew in front of Tux. Since I was the one holding the darn thing he blamed me for it giving him a fright. Called him to me, but he was suss over what had happened and hung back.. In to the ring we go, SBD very good apart from the missed sit and it went down hill from there. The only other three exersises that we did well was the Cloths Sendaway Recall and G.E. Blew the first leather, but got the next one. So roll on 2012

Victoria had their last trial of the year yesterday and the next official ones don't start until March 2012.

Last trial of the year last night and no UDX pass BUT I had one very happy boy out there who did his seekback with minimal fuss. He did find the correct one to begin with, went to pick it up and then left it and searched for the decoy, found that acknowledged that it wasn't correct and went back and got the right one, so all the hard work we have been doing seems to be paying off. In UD he also did a beautiful seekback - so hopefully we are on the right track.

We ended up missing the sit in the PIM - my fault - maybe.....and then the blind retrieve STOOPID exercise - I got leather # 2 twice when I should have got 1 and 3 but if they mark on attitude last night he would have got a perfect score - bless him.

The kids are now on 4 weeks holiday - they were each given a Clean run toy after the trial and there has been non stop squeaking ever since laugh.gif

:D Well if you couldn't finish the year with a pass, it was good to finish with some lovely attitude and successful exercises. The kids certainly deserved their EOY toy - and peole are right, the new isqueaks do sound a bit more like ducks - but Kirra is glad it's not quite so loud, and Rory doesn't care as long as a) it squeaks and b) he can run around with it in his mouth while Kirra plays with her new toy.

Lets look at next year as being the year of UDX quallies

Last nights effort was a bust but like Ptolomy I was thrilled with Brookie's attitude. We failed the down in PIM so I elected to do the two exercises I know he can do well which was sendaway with recall and change of position which he did beautifully so I ended with jackpot! Nice when you get the opportunity to do that!

so any of you guys started back in udx training yet and if so how are you guys going. I did pull my finger out and did towels. Had a couple of friends that she hadnt scented before and thought shall try and she was like a real pro galloped to the towels sniffed and flew back. Was really pleased with that. Havent done anything since though too hot and cant find people. Tuesday night puppy class has started back so was going to go to the club and get people to scent my towels and article and practice at the park but I wish the hot weather will dsappear though.

Xena98 have you seen the temps in Perth 40, 40, 42, 40, 38, 38, 38 so my kids are in training for running under the sprinkler and water biting - they should be able to get their OC in both of these rofl1.gif

I have done a few bits. Lost my stand in PIM, that's now back again, but I have now lost my drop. Have only done wash cloths once since December and he did OK, so was pleased with that. Have done a few blind retrieves and don't think they are getting any better frown.gif

I've been playing weaving with the youngsters and starting agility with them and having way more fun - well thats what I keep telling myself. rofl1.gif

 well I dusted off my mouse mat and worked on some UDX sendaways with the stir crazy feral wild child while I was sitting watching the tennis. Oh she had me in complete fits of laughter. She was trying to do things at a zillion miles an hour.. We did actually get somewhere though but it was hilarious watching her throw herself into a drop and then realize she was suppose to be sitting on the mat.

A little over zealous. Then she just decided she knew what I wanted and ended up barking at me. Gah - anybody would think she hasn't trained in months .

We had out first trial for the year last night and my little man swallowed some yippee beans on the way to the ring. It was his best performance to date, or maybe I should say his most confident performance, all of the exercises were done with enthusiasm and not once did I think whew we were lucky to pass that one. It was like he knew what he was doing thumbsup1.gif

Now for the sad bit - he didn't pass - missed a down in distance control, something I would have bet my house on that he would never do - but still tickled pink with what I got and just wish I could bottle it.

LOL Ness if only UDX was like that. From what I have seen its a case of Rooster one week and feather duster the next with each exercise breaking down and having to be rebuilt. And just when you think they have got it.............. they prove you wrong again.

I still have to wait for awhilebefore we get to trial but we went out to dog club and she worked brilliantly stuffed up no 2 leather and that was it so hopefully it will go over to the trial I hope
