A colleague of mine's wife took their shepherd there for training and she enjoyed the training and to all accounts the dog did too.

Not sure what you are looking for with ethics.

I haven't tried Aylward's myself, but if I were you I would go along to watch his training session "without" your dog. That way you can decide whether he uses the training method you're looking for.

There are lots of trainers in Ipswich - I would be doing more research before making a decision ;)

Totally agree with GSD! Go to their classes without your dog and see if you like what you see before signing up. A reputable trainer or training school would have no problem with that.
