mita
Ask them how much time they are willing to put into working this dog. I had Mallies for 15 years and know just how much needs to be invested into a dog of this breed. I realise the pup is a cross, but it's still going to have to be trained properly and cannot be left in the backyard for the rest of it's life only getting attention at feed time. As for the four cats, tell them that if they really love and adore them, don't bring this sort of dog into the home because they won't last long. I could count on one hand the number of Mallies that get along with cats and that's only because the owners manage it very well. As sad as it sounds, it would appear that this family doesn't manage anything too well. Good luck trying to persuade them. I wouldn't be able to bite my tongue if I were you. And I couldn't agree more with this.
