Sue Hogben Seminar - Albury

Recommended Posts

Bugger, where do people find out about all these seminars before they are posted on here? (usually after they have sold out :o)

I would have liked to have gone for this but didn't know and it's probably too late now unfortunately :(

Tollersowened - it may not be too late for auditing and you will get just as much out of auditing as you would taking a dog.

Yeah true, but I would have to take my guys anyway as I would have to stay up there, so don't think they would appreciate 3 dogs for an auditor's spot :o

Not long now, counting down the hours till we get to Albury.. One question though, can we do any videos? And I am sure that Sue needs to visit Melbourne for a couple of months, just so that we get to learn heaps more from her.

I think at previous seminars, you are allowed to film your own dog, but that is it. Best to ask :)

Sorry you didn't know about this TO. It was "advertised" on OzObedience as it is a trialling seminar, next time we have her here :crossfingers: there will be a post on DOL :)

WAers you will be pleased to know that Sue is coming back (if you didn't know already) and I can understand why you want her back, it was a great weekend, she is a good presenter with lots of good, common sense ideas and I'm fairly confident in assuming she has many others we didn't hear about.

Lovely to meet you TSD and Kallistar. Hope to see you in July Kallistar.

I am so pleased that Albury KC got Sue over as I have stated in a previous post I've always wanted to see her. She is fantastic. Learnt heaps too and my only wish is that it was for a week not just a weekend.

Lovely to meet you too m-j and TSD :)

Had a lovely weekend and have a head full of things to try. I am much more confident about moving forward with Ziggy's training now. Had fun camping with the dogs too and was grateful for my brilliant tent and cosy set up when it poured with rain on Sunday night!

Great to meet m-j and kallistar - sorry for the brief chatting but I had to fill the breaks with training so my lot would settle during the seminar. Very much enjoyed seeing the variety of breeds. Turns out that the wire hair viz pup (OMG so drivey!!!) belongs to a friend of a retrieving friend. Small world! Also fell in love with the red and white setter youngster. Drool included :D Sam's Aussie was wonderful to watch - such a happy little worker. Also caught up with one of the nicest people in the Dally world whom I met at last year's Dalmatian Nationals.

Really interesting what I focussed on this time around - last time I took away much more about the bigger picture. This time my expectations of my dog are higher (not just a difficult Dalmatian which is the message I had been getting from others), I have a very different youngster and I was really interested in the small details. I'm already looking forward to the next SH seminar.
