Wormy Puppy

Came to work this morning to find a cardboard box taped up sitting out the front. Inside was a little puppy :(

I have contacted all the right people about him and for now I am taking him home and getting him better. Vet nurse has checked him over and he Is full of worms, I will get him in for a full check up ASAP.

I have never had a wormy dog before. I wormed him this morning, he was very thirsty but hasn't eaten yet :( he hadnt been pooing all the time but when he does he has a bit of the runs. The last poo had a bit of blood in it - is this normal for a dog with worms?

I know the risks I am taking with him and am ok with that, but just want to know If there is anything else I can do for him?

When I temped care a pup that had worms, the vet told me the best thing I can do for it was just worm him regularly, give him plenty of liquid (because they will have the runs and it's often very dark and very smelly) and keep him warm. Other from that, there isn't much we can do but just let it run it course. I had to feed him little amounts of food but more frequent feeding.

The pup I had was active and still played around, but if he shows signs of lack of energy or whatnot, that's when I had to take him to the vets.

Poor pup, hope he gets better soon.

Teebs can you get him to the vet sooner rather than later? No appetite and bloody poop in puppies can indicate parvo.
