happie
I just came home and found an empty packet of mars pods on the floor. I have two bichon frises and I dont know if they shared it or just one of them ate the pack. Knowing my dogs, I have a feeling my older one ate it all while the little one watched on. I remember there being maybe half remaining in the pack. It says theres 25% min cocoa content. My dogs are not showing any other symptoms besides hyperactivity. Should I be worried? The cocoa content is not that high as in normal chocolate.

Esky the husky
Yep call the vet, they have a way of working out if you dog has had a toxic dose and needs to come in or not. Esky my husky ate almost a whole big block of cadbury hazelnut chocolate. I phoned the after hours vet and he advised us she would be fine. Staff'n'Toller
What was the pack size?
halfthewords
My Bichon polished off dark chocolate in December, I know your pain! I would take them to the vet just in case, you only have a 2 hour window before they can't induce vomiting.

goldielover
Glad to hear they're ok. One of my golden girls was staying at her daddy's place and she got into an large bag of M&M's. We kept a close eye on her but she was fine thankfully.
Kadbury
Glad your dogs are OK after eating the chocolate. Just a little tip if you ever have a situation where your dog eats something that is toxic.....immediately put two teaspoons of salt directly into their mouth and this will induce vomiting. I had occasion to do this with my Cavalier and had only heard about the salt inducing vomiting days before Kiri ate an Easter Egg. Salt went in......Choc came out, very quick reaction. ;)
Guest
Not knowing that chocolate was meant to be bad for dogs years ago when I owned poodles, i used to buy kinder suprises and give the dogs the chocolate and keep the toy for the kids, the dogs were always alright and lived to good ages, but i certainly wouldn't do it now knowing that it's meant to be bad for dogs. Thanks for that tip Kadbury, handy to know that.
