Are you bouncing the flash off the ceiling? You can also try bouncing it behind you.

Also, try focusing on the dogs eyes when you take your photos.

Huga - I was trying to bounce the flash, but I'm not sure what angle to use :cry: I'll have to do a test with them all.

I am not quick enough to focus on my 2 little fur-kids :laugh::rofl::laugh:

Bounce angle...either straight up or just one click less than vertical.

The only reason I get decent photos of Barkly is because he has a good "stay" :)

practice ,practice,practice , and definitely focus on EYES :) You have gorgeous subjects ... who look as if they are happy to sit & be looked at thru adoring eyes ... so encourage them to 'stay '.. and then play with focus . ;)
