Dogsrawesome
So me and the OH went for a walk tonight and on the way back we noticed an adult shar pei and a lady holding a puppy and she goes *are these yours* i replied no do you need help finding the owners. Mind you this was 7pm cold and this puppy wasnt any older than 8wks :D poor little guy must of been freezing anyway the lady took the pup into her house and we went to walk after the shar pei hoping to find the owner, it ran up to this guy and the lady goes are you missing a pup and he goes *a black one* and she goes yes and he replies * i didnt even know it was out* seemed he wasnt even worried. I dont know how a little puppy like that can just get out??? people confuse me...

Swizzlestick
Didnt think people would leave a pup out a night? well i wouldnt lol You'd be surprised what people will do. Not uncommon for people to get a BYB 6wo and put him straight out in the yard on the first night....alone. Not much surprises me these days..........unfortunately. PeiPei
Some people are so irresponsible...It amazes me how they could be so calm about losing their puppy. If any of my pets went missing I would be a mess until I found them. There is so many things that could happen to them and not knowing they were safe would be terrible. I have saved so many stray & lost animals and it amazes me how people can be so 'oh whatever' when their pet gets returned. What amazes me more is when the same pet keeps getting out and the owner does nothing about it.

My OH said thats the 3rd time this week that shar pei has been out ;) but the first time the puppy has been out starting to think he just lets them out. If you keep seeing the dogs out (like the Shar Pei) I would go to the owners house and kindly ask what was happening, whether there was sufficient fencing etc or if the dogs were doing crazy things to get out. Being devil's advocate here... if this happens often because the Shar Pei finds new ways every time to get out - they might just be like 'well.. he never goes far so we'll find him' if that makes sense? Sometimes someone will fix one problem and another will present itself, then they wil fix that problem and then ANOTHER problem will come about... these people MAY have that problem where the Shar Pei keeps trying different things to get out. OR... they could just not care... I don't know. lol But I would go and ask if they were having problems keeping the dogs in... if they seem agressive or not fussed about what happens to their dog then I would contact council and see if you have any grounds to report them?? benshiva
OMG how do you know he was left out at night? Maybe he was let out after his meal to go to the toilet and got out then. Puppies are fast little suckers Maybe the guy HAD been out looking for him and doesn't know how to show his relief at finding him. God I love DOL! Swizzlestick
Not sure what the fuss is really. I didn't say they bought a 6wo pup and put him out all night etc. I was just trying to give an example of what "some" people do, and that not much surprises me anymore as a result of all the things I've seen.
