SBT101
Alyosha, they are looking good. Ane the little one, he looks to be thriving We are going well here. Although think it is taking its toll om Cynda. She is already getting big, and we still have around 3weeks to go. She is eating, but going to cut her back to smaller but more frequent meals. Cyn and I have a midnight snack of vegemite sandwiches last night and she loved it. Has everyone galready got names picked out? I am dedicating this litter to my late Mother. Names will have a meaning associated to mum On that note, we watched Dancing with the stars last night and at the start of the programme, I told the kids if Manu wins, I will name one of the puppies after him. And guess what, he won
Alyosha
This is our "A" litter for Borzoi, and we're doing a Greek mythology theme. Our Girls are Aphrodite, Athena and Andromeda. The boys are Apollo, Adonis, Atlas, Alektos, Argus, Arinyes, Alexander and Ares.
Jetpoint GSP
This is our 'A' litter too - no theme though I like yours alyoshsa! We made it through the night - she's still heading off to the laundry now and then and we have to settle her in with the pups again but today the kiddy gate goes up and she won't be able to get in there. She's currently having a break from the pups and is having some time with me. I think she just needs a rest without them crawling all Over her! Does anyone elses girl need breaks now and then? Also do u still take them out for a walk if she wants it? She's had a couple of meals and pups seem to be feeding fine, keeping an eye out for the smaller ones but they seem to be getting in there and getting a teat too. Pics soon! Alyosha - yours are just gorgeous!
Bilbo Baggins
Oii Missymoo you have not put me in the July list. Due 31st. Saw Rosie today and she has blossemed. Bilbo Baggins
OMG I think the crisis is averted!!! She kept ducking behind the curtain into the laundry and trying to take pups there! So...we rigged up sheets into a tent over the whelping box - she dove right in, gathered up her pups and they have all promptly gone to sleep, she didn't even look when we left the room. Fingers crossed that's done the trick- all she wanted was a den!! Great news.
Bilbo Baggins
They're funny aren't they? Glad she's happy now! I had a bitch who used to take a pup to the sofa... feed it... then return it to the whelping box and collect another. She would feed the entire litter this way daily unless I intervened and made her stay in her box! It was fascinating to watch. I think she just felt overwhelmed with puppies in the box and couldn't relax, but was happy to feed them, so long as she could do it one at a time. OMG what a drawn out process for her. Kadbury's girl Kyra had problems so we had her on the couch for the sanity of our backs. So we could express and latch on the pups. Once they were feeding well she thought this was the place to feed so we had to rescue remedy her and force to stay in the box until she got the message. An incident occured while on the couch. It was the type that came in sections. I checked on the pups because she was sitting up and 1 missing. She had sat on it but luckly the section had separated slightly so it was in the gap, still needed resuscitation though. It was after that we really forced the feed in the whelping box. Bilbo Baggins
I was talking to Kyra yesterday about pups names and suggested old song/persons. Mum is Ring A Ring A Rosie and dad is Duke Ellington. And yes previous mentioned dog was named after this child. :D :D
britt3
Well done on your den construction Jetpoint!! Talk about saving the day! hows your girl coming along alyosha?? with that fernugreek i mixed it in with some mince meat & a little water & hand feed her it... thats the only way brittany will have it.. but the funny thing is i reckon it smells like curry lol & my pups do too lol.... i have had to top up my babies my smallest is 284grams & biggest is 515grams (his not needing a top up) lol.......... i wasnt gonna do it but looking at maybe keeping a girl she is beautifully marked & such a dark rich blenmeim, i will see what she is like at 8 weeks if so will have to move one of my tri girls on. i need a bigger back yard lol She's getting there. Milk arriving has been a slow process, but so has the passing of placentas so I shouldn't complain. She's steadily improving now with the fenugreek. She won't touch it in food although she seems to find the smell exciting. But if I make it into tea and then use that to mix with her milk-replacer powder - she goes nuts for it. I'm not topping up pups after every feed now, but will still top up the smaller ones. Although they're starting to catch up! This is one of the two smallest boys with one of the biggest today: I know what you mean about the big backyard! We were always hopng for a bitch from this litter - and we have lovely girls. But I knew I'd be tempted to keep a really nice boy as well... And yep, I'm tempted alright, don't think he'll be going anywhere. But two more borzoi, well they're easy to fit in... :D JUST GORGEOUS ALYOSHA

Maybe after a few days of letting her have breaks and then putting her back in she'll get what this being a mum is all about! Excuse my ignorance but what exactly is rescue remedy for dogs? Rescue Remedy is a Bach Flowers solution. Youe use about 4 drops its human grade. Fixes everything. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bach_flower_remedies
Jetpoint GSP
I'll definitately get proper pics up on my website www.jetpointgsp.com as soon as I take them. They're all so settled in there and she's not jumping out and is happy to stay. They pups are all either feeding or passed out milk drunk at the moment so I don't want to upset anything while things are going well! Next time I take her out for a wee break i'll get the pics before they all get settled in again. I think i'll try to get some rescue remedy for tonight - just in case she is unsettled again, either that or for me!! Yesterday evening I was wondering if we'd get out of this with our sanity intact!! Not that I want to jinx anything but i'm hoping it's all taken a positive turn now. Have attached the piccies I have. 1st one Finshed and cleaned up All done! Jetpoint GSP
BABIES 9 DAYS Awww Britt they're gorgeous, gotta love a Cav, we had a lovely little blenheim boy when we were kids and I still have a big soft spot for them!
Alyosha
Britt your little Cavs are just beautiful!!! And Jetpoint!! What lovely babies!! I just love the little liver snuggled in amongst them! And the tent photo is priceless! I'm so glad you found a simple solution. Funny you mention Enya's music Allerzeit. The day Sonya was in labour - last Wednesday - in the morning she would only settle if I played Enya. Then when she was whelping, she seemed to get on with it better with the music on as well! Maybe just coincidence I know, but at one stage we had a loooonnng wait between pups and I got my husband to put the Enya back on - out popped a pup!! Very strange indeed... We had dewclaws done today so are all home sooking on mum. And our little one with the damaged tail had his dangling tail end removed. Do you think I need to get the vet to do a certificate with him now? I suppose technically he's now a docked Borzoi!!!
Jetpoint GSP
Alyosha, i'm trying really hard not to pick 'the one' at the moment, I have got no where near enough experience under my belt to do that, will be getting a helping hand from another very experienced breeder for some 'objective eyes' when they are a bit older. HOWEVER.....There were three that took my eye and 1 in particular that I REALLY liked. I LOVE the first solid black girl with the big patch of white on her chest and I really like the Liver Girl too, there is a lovely B&W girl that I like but i'm not as taken with her as the other two yet. BUT like I said, trying really hard no to get set on one until they're a bit older and we've had a better look! Are you keeping any alyosha?
