Travel Crate Advice

Hi,

I'm planning to fly my beagle from Canberra to Brisbane soon. Last time he flew he was still a puppy and he fit in a PP40 crate, but now he's just a little too big, so I'm hunting for an appropriate crate. I'd prefer to buy rather than hire because I expect to use the crate again in the future. However, I've been hunting around and it's hard to find a crate that's airline approved and big enough. The only candidate I've found is a Kramar Transporter, which says it's IATA approved, but I'm concerned (or paranoid...I'm quite the worrier!) that the airline won't accept it because it has clips as well as screws holding it together - or some other reason I haven't thought of.

Does anyone have any experience, positive, or negative, with this crate, or any suggestions for alternatives (and where I can get it)?

Thanks.

cloverthistle - as long as it has the screws it should be fine. I think the issue is just when they have plastic clips to hold them together and no screws. I have used a cratethat had both clips and screws and not hand any problems.

Vari kennels are good if you can find them but often quite pricey. And I remember a thread on here earlier this year about pp50s being introduced - basically the next size up from the pp40. Maybe do a search of DOL?
