WreckitWhippet
Google is your friend. Type in heated dog water bowl and there's plenty available. The only thing is, you may have to get one shipped from o/s also known as "thermo bowls" Edited April 12, 2011 by ReadySetGo

In fact I need to know if we CAN get them here and of so where from.
poodlefan
What purpose will the bowl be used for Steve? Where will it be placed and will it have access to a power source?

Erny
Never even heard of them until you mentioned them here, Steve, so I'm not going to be of any help. I presume you need it for the dogs out in the fields? One thing that I was given as a Winter 'Tip' was to dig a hole big enough for the water container to sit in it half way down and then mound the soil up around the rest of the bowl/bucket/container that was standing above the hole. The soil temperature is a bit warmer by a degree or two and the soil can also act as an insulator. This might just be enough to stop the drinking water from freezing over. This might help you until you can source a heating pad??
Steve
No I dont need them but apparently they are good for areas where it gets down minus zero as dogs arent real smart about knowing they need to break ice to get to water. Seems they are good in areas where it snows and it doesnt snow here. Ive never considered it an issue as we check our dogs in the paddock twice a day and refill water bowls etc They usually take water where the sheep do. I needed to know in order to be sure an article Im writing is pertinent for Australia - not much point in discussing them and how they are used if no one uses them or no one can buy them here etc. Edited April 13, 2011 by Steve
