Isabel964
About 10 years ago I did alot of research and found that Innova, available at Pets Paradise (Its from the U.S) had the best ingredients and I chose that for my dogs. I compared it to Purina, IAMs, Hills science and I was sure Innova was the best by looking at the ingredients list. But in the last few years my life went through some upheavals and I change to supermarket food. I'd like to choose a high quality nutritious dry food. Things have probably changed and I don't know which is the best quality now. I have also forgotten how to analyse the ingredients list. Can anyone remind me? I remember that I needed to look for real meat first, to watch out for qhere on the list 'fillers' were, there was something about corn, and so much more. So reminders on how to assess which dry food is a good quality for my girls would be great Or if you have done the research yourself, and are willing to share which brand of dry dog food is the best in your opinion, I'd love that. poodlefan
Read the threads here. Then choose one within your budget. Key issues are the amount of meat in the food as opposed to fillers, and what fillers are used. What breed of dog do you have? I tend to go by what works well for others with my breed/s. Crisovar
I do not believe there is a BEST food, but there will be a food that your dog does best on. If your dog has no allergies or intolerances, buy the best food you can afford and see how your dog goes. Meat first, no colours and other crap and see how you go. Isabel964
Pets Paradise - aka puppy farm bought puppies - sorry what ever your dog does well on stick with it . Yes I know the views on Pets Paradise, but back when I did the research, Innova was a fantastic food and imported from America - and only available at Pets Paradise. Question: For the dry food what is the target ingredients in terms of percentage protein, fat etc?
jackie_a1
Sky pretty sure you can purchase it online. Just in case you get sick of funding the puppy mill funders I recommend buying food online if you can often much cheaper and at whole sale prices plus they deliver so it's much more better for convenience. Is your dog still growing, is it very active, is it working, is it prone to obesity.
Red Fox
If you liked Innova try something like Artemis, Earthborn Select or Canidae. http://www.pookinuk.com.au/pet-products.asp?categoryID=
