megan_
I sitting in the car on tears. TriEd to wall my dog with issues at an on lead park and it is dark. We still got harrassed by off leash fogs. My dog has issues so Im in the wrong. Im so over it. I hate - and I mean hate- 90% of dog owners right now. Most are so f**+* selfish . Oh and I acted like a crazy woman and had a fight with a guy ( put my dogs in the car first) . No point to this post really

AdoubleJ
I agree!! Nothing pisses me off more than taking my dog to an ON LEAD park because he doesn't like loose dogs rushing up to him and WAMMO all the dogs are LOOSE. I tend to rant at the owners too. If they want to let their dogs off lead then go to an off lead park!!! :p
dee lee
Oh you poor thing. So many of us have been there, it totally sux. It's just not fair. :p Big hugs & I hope you feel better soon.

freundhund
Some of us actually understand what you are trying to say. I know exactly where you are coming from. The other day I am walking my dog on lead by my bike, I see a X- standard poodle, which starts to come towards me. I turn around and walk the other way. Guy goes off up the hill and dog goes with him, so I keep riding, about 5 minutes later the X-breed races across in front of the bike and starts to play and dominate my girl. I promptly let go of the lead and get of my bike, having hit the brakes I am in a bit of pain due to the bike banging my private parts (swear words). Diva promptly says lets play and lets the dog chase her, then she turned around chased the other dog and bowled it over, no teeth or agression. Guy starts to scream abuse at me!!!! I have the GSD so of course she must be aggressive!!!!!!!!!!! :p He then advises that he will call the police, the ranger etc. I haven't been spoken to by either of these authorities as yet. What annoys me is that he deliberately didn't call his dog back, his dog wasn't on a leash, as soon as I called mine back she came. I go to the bother of spending hours and hours of obedience training my girl, I have spent hours socialising her, she has done nothing wrong as she only bowled the dog in play BUT he was going to make out she and I were in the wrong. I really feel for you, when you have a reactive dog and people don't give you a chance.

fifi
Big Hugs. One of the reasons I am SO thankful to live on an acreage, I never want to do the public park, dog park crap ever again. I take mine to town & markets as youngsters to socialise them. but I never go near the suburbs or parks - to many DHeads who have no idea. sorry to read other's have made is awful for you to enjoy your walk Megan. fifi

megan_
Thanks- I knew the crazy dog ladies would understand :-). I am at a loss what to do. My previous safe place is safe no more. When I tell people she has issues they don't care- she is small so she will always come off second best. That or it is her problem if she has issues and their dog will " sort her out". She hasn't had a decent wall with me since Thursday. I take her Ou twice a day but we every time their have been unruly off leash fogs. I understand why people are pushed to PTS da dogs( she isn't in any danger of that, don't worry). I think I need to make her a rottie suit and then people might think twice about letting their dog harass her.

megan_
That was one of my safe places- princes hey. And then we ran into an offleash GSd who charged at us. Fortunately I was near my car so threw my two in the backseat. That was last night's experience. Right now my plan is to win Saturday's 20m draw and buy a private park - No dickheads allowed Eta bloody iPhone auto correct Edited March 21, 2011 by megan_

KitKat
I know how you feel...but don't think the 'rotti suit' will necessarily help the lil one! I have two GSD's - one reactive (sorta - only because he's a twit, not real aggression) and one not - you'd think 90kgs of fur would discourage people from letting their dogs start hassling mind? On or off lead? NOPE! I don't go to dog parks for this reason (plus the fleas they pick up) and we haven't been to a dog park in years. As it is we'll turn down another street, cross the road, get as far away as we can to let others through etc...but noooooo many will bring their dogs closer thinking it's funny that their dog/s are trying to nab the big bad GSD's :p Edited March 21, 2011 by KitKat
JulesP
Not sure were you live Megan but I've found Lilydale Lake pretty safe. I've only met 1 dog off lead in the on lead bit in 6 years.
