I would take atleast four weeks off for my litters. When I had the two litters last year I was working in the evening. I took 1-2 weeks off then only did 2 shifts a week until they were old enough to leave. My OH was home in the evening s to do the evening feeds, so that worked out perfectly but with a 9-5 day job I would take minimum 4 weeks off. Bullmastiff mums arent left with their puppies unsupervised incase of squashing so we need to be there to put mum in with pups every couple of hours to feed, and that includes during the night. Sometimes I wish I had a breed that I could leave and not worry about coming home to squashed puppies. Bullmastiffs arent easy, therefore, I dont breed very often, lol.
