Dogs Little Accidents On Your Carpet.

Hi All,

We changed carpet in our house over the weekend and now OH is being paranoid over it.

Its not brand new carpet.

We currently have a 9 week old litter of 4 pups who sleep inside in a c crate which consists of a tarp, sheet on top of that then newspaper

for their toilet.

They do spend alot of time outside when weather is fine (knowing Melb that will stop soon.)

Also have two adults, mother & son (both intact).

Occasionally he will lift his leg on the couch cover and is reprimanded if seen.

My question to you smart dolers is:

WHAT DO YOU RECCOMEND TO CLEAN UP PUPS LITTLE ACCIDENTS??? (Both ones & two's if you know what I mean.)

OH mentioned water with BioZet laundry powder, I saw the cost of this in the supermarket & geez its abit expensive.

We know that you should NOT use anything with amonia it as dogs may go back to that spot.

Thanks guys.

BB

I have used all different remedies & sprays in the past.

I picked up a bottle of X-Out Pet Odour Removal at the Pet Expo a couple of weeks ago & it has been the best of far!

It doesn't mask the smell, it completely removes it.

When we have foster puppies or kittens that have accidents, we just draw up the accident with paper towel and then heavily spray the area with this stuff. It has worked really well for us and it is not all that expensive :(

I find it works a lot better then Urine Off which I have used in the past.

i used to clean it up with carpet cleaner, there was one you could get from woolies a few months ago that aided in cleaning up pet accidents, then spray the are with a solution of white vinegar & water, seems to do the trick

Not puppies but one of my big dogs will pee on the carpet in the study if you leave him unattended

I soak up as much as a I can with a cloth or old dog towel. Then I sprinkle with bicarb, spray bi carb with vinegar and allow to make a paste. Let it dry then vacuum up

Our carpet cleaning guys goes off when he can see that we have soaked an area with water and in our main bedroom we did unortunately put a water mark on the carpet that won't come out. So be careful whatever method you choose to use
