A-B-C
Ok, so my super intelligent housemate just laughingly announced to me that China has just eaten a dead white tailed spider that he sprayed and left on the floor earlier this evening. The effing moron just stood there and watched her eat it!!! :D Does anyone know whether they are poisonous if dead and consumed? All the info I can find are about actual bites. ETA: toddling off to ring the emergency vets to find out. Edited March 15, 2011 by A-B-C

Yup, the vets said due to the spider being dead and China's size (she's 34kg) all should be fine (on both the spider and spray front). Yes, he's lucky he's gone to bed... I just don't get why he would stand there, watch her eat it and then announce to me that she had done it... what idiot does that???
Guest Willow
My friends 8 month old daughter (the skin kind) ate a redback that had been sprayed....this happened a couple of weeks back. She said the Dr told her not to worry, that she would be fine, so I imagine the same would most likely apply to your dog, with the sprayed whitetail. Lab_Rat
Oh, Ive got one of those too, has a ridge though Now the embarrassing question - Are they Mastiff, Bulmastiff, English Mastiff or something else.....Never did get the hang of Mastiffs, except the Dogue de Bordeaux ;) And that generally they are big and gorgeous!! I sprung her from Hay pound, so I'd say she's bred to chase pigs (I'd also say that she'd be pretty darned good at it if he got the chance... a tad psycho too perhaps lol) Guessing at breeds... BA's are based on Bull Terrier, Greyhound and GSP x generally, which she could most definitely have in there... I'd say there's also AmStaff (or the like) and knows what else. She's sheer athleticism through and through. ETA: tried to post an up to date pic in the pics thread, but haven't posted in so long it has closed. That's what happens when I move off the gorgeous farm I was on. Now live in the city... the camera hardly comes out any more. ;) Here's one taken the other weekend at my OH's place though ;) Edited March 15, 2011 by A-B-C
