Out of my price range but funky. eta I found this on urban animal re ordering from Studio Sebastian Studio Sebastian can also take orders for personalised bowls and ship throughout Australia.Available at selected pet stores and direct. corvus Posted March 13, 2011 Share Posted March 13, 2011 I can think of better things to spend my money on than pretty bowls. :D Call me overly practical, but they don't care what they eat out of and I only care that they are safe, don't get pushed all over the kitchen, don't break easily, and don't hurt too much when I stub my toe on them. We also have cheap nylon leashes. Slightly fancier collars, but only because I was looking for something soft and hemp was the toughest soft collar I could find. Leashes and collars should be the most functional and strongest you can get not necessarily the most expensive, but definately not cheap and nasty - also depends on the size of the dog, breed etc. I have stainless bowls but I would like something that doesn't slide around on the tiles, not really interested in ceramic. Our leashes get a lot of abuse and I've never had one abruptly fail on me. So there is a point as far as I'm concerned: a cheap leash does the job, and I don't have to worry about whether it's got wet and then dragged through sand, got the clip clogged up, or the handle dunked in seawater. They hold together remarkably well IME. For the harnesses and collars it's more about the dogs' comfort and safety. I have the bowls pip has. They don't skid and don't chip. I like 'em. Cheap leashes only do the job until they break on you, no way would I trust a cheap leash especially when handling bigger dogs or dogs that lunge a lot etc. Besides which after holding a well made leather leash nothing else feels as nice and soft. I mostly want nice looking bowls because they are in our house and I want something that looks nice. They don't have to be expensive, but I'm bored with stainless steel. The more dogs you work with and around, the more chance you will have in witnessing leash (and/or collar) failure. It definitely does happen. I hope you continue to be fortunate enough to never have this occur to you. It's dangerous for the dog and dangerous for the handler.
