I was bathing a schnauzer who is a regular of mine for grooming.. she STUNK of a dirty rabbit hutch.. ammonia i thought how odd but she is old and probable just urine..

Now i was watching house... not a great diagnostic tool hahah but they said ammonia smell is linked to kidney failure and i googled and its right.... should i be worried enough to call the owner or am i being sily????

Absoloutely it can be related. When we have dogs in with kidney failure all you can smell is ammonia :) I would get in touch with the owners and let them know about the smell and suggest a vet check. Dont freak them out and say it is kidney failure, just say it could indicate a health issue (but make sure they do take the dog to a vet!)
