I no longer go buy the travel light theory,i simply do the i must have & the just in case items.

To often i have tried the travel light & regretted leaving something home because i thought it wasn't a really needed item but having said that i take more having coated breeds anyway

Once for a local show where I was only showing a smooth saluki, I rocked up at the grounds with a water bowl, his ordinary lead and collar and a show lead. I may have had a rubber brush in the car to buff up his coat.

He won a class in group that day. That is my personal best on packing light, if OH is there with an Afghan, it's a whole other story and for a weekend away I tend to plan for weather issues and a range of other things that really work against packing light.

In your shoes I would buddy up with a local who likes you enough to let you share their set up!

Don't need the travel home clothes, just wear your show clothes

I am heading off for less than two days to a weekend with three shows. Taking two dogs.

What would you take for such a quick trip? I started a list and it was getting a little long to fit in my suitcase

When I go away for a quickie I take 2 or 3 dogs, one puppy pen, one trolley & my grooming box. Also PP20's for the smaller dogs & PP40 if I take the bigger girl.

My bag for me is one of the smaller type and I only take what fits in it... I also take a small chiller bag with 1kg of chicken necks & some proplan in a container. That's my idea of travelling light...

I also try to go to places I have been before, like where I know there is shade which means I don't have to take the gazebo.
