So Proud Of My Dogs

Skinkid is at the age where she wishes to "share" all her food with whomever is standing near (the lady in the queue at Kmart could have scored a half eaten rice cracker if she had been quick enough!!! ), this of course includes the dogs.

Whilst I don't have a drama with her giving them treats under supervision, I don't want them hovering like vultures whenever she eats, or stepping it up a notch & taking food from her when she's trying to eat.

I've been teaching them to refuse food offered by her, unless I give a specific command, and this afternoon, she was eating a rice cracker in her playpen, and was cooing at them & waving it enticingly through the bars at them. I gave them a reminder they weren't to touch the food, and they both turned their backs on her & stayed watching me :D :) (i also redirected my daughter, and when she's old enough she'll learn not to tease them with food).

So proud that they have "got it" (both are older rescues).....just a small thing, but it makes such a difference to our lives......
