yeah it fits on the angle but then i cant fit any crates in, i have to fit a 36in and a 32/ 34 soft crate in. The handels are quite strong and with all the gear underneith it it can only fall 2cm if the straps do let go

Thanks for the pics. I am still a alittle wary - I would be worried about the weight in the long term, not sure those handles are designed for that and also the event of stopping suddenly. I like the idea, just not sure I am brave enough to try it.

I just slide mine in at an angle. It is a bit of a pain but it works.

Play around with it until you get everything in right - it will take several goes until you get a routine that your comfortable with. I would rather rest the soft crates on the gazebo and place all the other much needed accessories where ever they fit than risk damaging the car, not something I would be willing to try.

I no longer have my wagon and miss it big time so now I am using my OH's Commodore sedan since he upgraded and it has a gas tank in the boot. I wanted to get the 3x3 oztrail but have limited space so got the 2.4x2.4, it actually takes up less room than my folding moon chair does. Since I am only showing one pug at the moment I am constantly surprised by the crap that I end up taking with me for one little dog. The trolley goes behind the front seats with 2 of the bunning compost pens that I set up as toileting area + esky and a few bags of crap with plenty of room and Charli is in a PP20 on the front seat. I have also taken large metal crates in the car with rotties and somehow made it all fit.

If it was me I would still go with a compact.

I have 2 compacts because of space issues.

In a commodore sedan I can fit:

3 kids

3 basenji's (1 in PP40)

2 compacts

4 folding chairs

4 folding stretchers

2 eskys

PP40

2 sports bags (large)

bag food

2 ground mats

6 gazebo walls

grooming bag

5 pillows

4 big blankets

We were packed in like sardines but we fit :D

Now I have a small 2 berth trailer so it will be so much better

I think I'd consider strapping it up with something with less stretch in it than an occy strap though the way it butts up against the head protector on the seat, you'd hope it wouldn't be able to go forward in case of a sudden stop.

And I'd put a strap or two through the handles on the carry bag to further discourage forward or backward movement.

It does look like a clever idea. I have trouble fitting my coleman gazebo in my car since I got a luggage cage and can't fit it diagonally anymore. It does fit if I take the poles out and put them elsewhere.

I have to saying having a 3/6 birth trailer is great!! with 2 bays can be changed into 1..so most of my show gear goes in the trailer...

Id be scared the straps would come off n flick someone in the eye..

5th wedding anniversary

Iv been thinking n on all you guys have said and the only other way it can fit in is if the dogs sit on 2/3rds of the back seat and it sits over the otter third but if it sits there I have no way of strapping it down and it can hit the dogs in an accident or the small of the passengers back, where as if it is up on the roof it is locked in to place by the head rest and back door, will fiddle around some more and see if I can figure somthing else out

hope you can figure out something - strapped up like you have it in the photos, and seriously, in an accident, a passenger could be killed or sustain severe head injuries. The back of the seat won't stop it.

Well arnt i a  i went back to the store with the gazebo and the guy had a look at the car then went in to the shop and bought out 2 hockey straps then just straped it to the inside of the roof of the car and it fit :mad

feeling slightly stupid now

;) :rofl::eek:

I have spent nights trying to figure out how we can fit it in your car. I never thought of that either. :p I almost bought a ground mat last weekend, but thought NOPE, we cant even fit us and the gazbo in yet.
