Looking For The Best Nail File For A Difficult Dog

We have a small terrier that turns into a bear everytime we try to cut or dremel her nails.

So I want to try filing them by hand, with no sound of electrical motor like dremel.

Can someone suggest the best nail file that does the work well?

I need something that will file the nails reasonable quickly.

Where can I buy it?

Thank you.

Go to your local hardwear store and buy a file, like the one your dad has or had in the garage. Great for dogs nails.

I think they are refered to as Bastard Files.

Yep. Got to love that name! :)

;) Bastard refers to the cut of the file.

It may be a bit rough for a Terrier, try a 'second cut' one, you'll get a smoother finish and no tearing of the nail.

I had English Toy Terriers that I used a Bastard File to do their nails. You can get very fine ones that do a great job. The ETs didnt mind at all once they got used to it.
