Myjoe
Hello people I am looking at rescuing another dog and am wondering about the question regards vaccination (my dog is nearly15 and the vets do titre tests and recommend triennial vac) but the shelter seems to want annual vacs; can anyone help how I may respond to this? I am happy to vaccinate annually but wonder if that would be a sticking point with the shelter? Many thanks for input Myjoe
Staranais
You'd need to talk to the shelter about it. If they're stuck on thinking annual core vaccines are best, perhaps your vet could write them a letter or provide a handout stating that the new protocol for pets is every 3 years for the core vaccines. Or you could just tell your shelter that your dogs see a vet regularly and you vaccinate as often as your vet recommends - I don't see why a shelter would argue with that. sallyandtex
i had this sort of query recently when considering vac's. The RSPCA said the 3 year one has the certificate for that particular one so you should be fine with all the documentation.
