Bears Big Adventure

It's a lost and found story with a modern, technological twist.

A dog that disappeared in the United States has been reunited with his owner after an 1100km trip - thanks to a microchip.

The dog, a two-year-old terrier named Bear, was last seen at the family's Sacramento construction business with his 32-year-old owner Bryan Rapozo.

The family had given up hope of finding Bear but then came the phone to say he had been found.

The family received a call from the Humane Society in Tacoma, Washington two days after Bear had disappeared saying he had been found in a local neighbourhood.

It was the microchip that confirmed his identity.

It's unclear how the dog got to Washington State, but the Rapozos think someone snatched him off the street.

:( That he was found and reunited with his owner ;)

Haha what a great story. Can't imagine why anyone would be without a microchip nowadays! It's invaluable and this article proves it. How upsetting to have lost your dog for all that time though
