I guess the next will be 9 I've bought in a new bitch line where I have bonus nipples now, sharing the one boob, he dam is the same. Got to love getting bonus bits! Got a bonus tooth too. The bitch with 7 nipples had 2 litters and all pups in those litters had 8 nipples. We bred the other sister with 8 nipples once, and she produced pups with 7 nipples. I found it interesting. My girls have tended to have much more milk in the back than the front, and by the time the pups are three weeks old, they hardly bother to compete for the front positions . . . . while the double nippled back teats almost always have two pups on them.
