Lexies mum Jessica did the same thing at her first show and followed it up with two more baby in shows, perhaps Lexie could do it too???

Jessica's first show five years ago (achieving BPIS) and her daughter Sexy Lexie's first show yesterday (also achieving BPIS) were both Ovens Valley Canine Club shows!

Group 7

RUBIG Skipp

Baby Skipp

Saturday's schipperkes and Sunday's schipperkes were two different sets of exhibitors, with neither there on both days.

 to everyone for a great two days of showing. Judges, Stewards, Committee and Club Members, Volunteer's, (or spouses made to come along, not sure which  ) and of course all the Exhibitor's. As a first time show secretary I got some great help from people and learnt a lot. There are already discussions about improving things for next year, but one thing that is happening for sure is; NEUTER classes are here to stay!

Now a couple of found announcements.

One slicker brush, fairly distinctive

One ground mat, also fairly distinctive.

Email me if you think they are yours describing them. They can be delivered to the Thurgoona shows and possibly to Melb.

THANK YOU ALL

Really?

I can honestly see why Victorian clubs are hesitant to offer it......7 (missed my Toller boy ) neuters in the whole show.

Was a good weekend, though we didn't set up or stay long. My only grumble is today trying to track down challenges after group had finished.

No one knew who was writing them out, so had to personally go around asking everyone if they were doing it or knew who was, eventually found her. Though not happy about being told if I couldn't find them before I left that it was tough luck and I wouldn't get them at all. I didn't care about them not being done on Saturday as I was back the next day but when you have a 4-5 hour drive and you want to leave so you can get home at a decent hour it would be nice if someone actually knew who the ticket writer was and where to find them.

Apart from that, it was a smoothly run show and I really enjoyed the location

I was told on the weekend OVCC was the first all breeds club in Victoria to offer Neuter class. I don't know if that is true or not. But it has to be given a chance to kick off.

Thank you

I wonder if the small entry has anything to do with people not bothering to alter their dogs registration to be on main neuter unless there is a point to it (ie more classes offered!!). I am considering neutering one of my dogs, however as I want to keep showing him, I won't until the class is more commonplace. He has his Ch title and has gained almost 50 points in the past few months but he'll never get his grand lol but I don't like leaving him behind so neutering him will give us something new to work toward

That is correct Rebanne.

I do hope some more Clubs start offering it.

Catch 22, damned if you do damned if you don't. But if everone thinks like you SP neuter classes will never be well supported. But I do understand where you are at. It's up to the exhibitor.

Haha I even asked that "is there anyone I can ask who might actually know something?" Got a "no" to that too, that was on my second trip back after seeing other groups being handed out. Next time I will just focus on tracking you down rather then go on some search for an unknown person

Yep, Albury offered it last year and that's the closest it's gotten! Hopefully a show at KCC will offer it as not many people can get away for a weekend, to see if it will go well!

Yeah, I know. And I have thought about it that way. I heard a rumor they were going to be compulsory classes later this year?? I'm still not 100% decided on neutering him (he is only 6.5 and I have no issues keeping him entire- it's purely selfish I want to show him more lol), but it would definitely make the decision more worthwhile and it would also be something to discuss with puppy buyers etc (neuter but stillshow nice dogs etc). At the very least, I want to continue supporting the class by way of donation  so remind me next year

I guess at the moment I am not going to lose one of my show dogs (I only have 3!) for the sake of one or two shows a year (I'm not in a position to travel much).
