MTD
Its arrived , its arrived ;) It is so hot out side , did some quick test photos playing around with the depth of field then came running back inside to the air con . Very impressed with the lens . I have a lot of learning and playing to do These photos were taken with no tripod and a bit of wind so although not totally focused I think the lens did a good job Lavander - a bit dead by mtd3, on Flickr Untitled by mtd3, on Flickr Naughty Caterillar eating my lime tree by mtd3, on Flickr

Kirislin
bee's Hmmmm, I wonder if they really are bees or are they imposters, maybe they're wasp or fly lookalikes. If they're doing what I think they're doing I would've thought the Queen would be alot bigger, and I'm not sure that they mate in open air either. Frodo's mum
first of all I thought it was a bee on a fly.....had wrong lens on so went and got macro thinking they would be gone for sure by the time I got back but they were like it for ages....I didn't think bee's "did it " in the open like that either... feel free to show the photo to anyone who might know what they are or what they are doing :D

redangel
Remember a while ago Kirislin had a 'weird fly" thread. Well I have a weird bug here too...striped like a fly but is a pollinator like the bee, acts like a bee. It has stripes on the body and spots over the eyes (obviously no dress sense LOL). after researching a bit more I have found it is a hoverfly. as pictured here Amazing how many different bugs are around when you look a bit closer.
