Ted79
Has anyone had any experiences with mosquito fogging and their dogs having adverse reactions, just moved recently only to have my chow chow go from healthy to suffering temporary blindness, infected gums (bad breath), swelling of his muzzle and lethargic in under 48 hrs. We've seen at least four-five separate vets (over a course of six weeks) and been given a response to the symptoms that present but given no viable reasons, this is the second time around in just over six weeks however this time my baby furball is suffering a great deal worse with his vision almost totally impaired. Maybe it's not related at all but it seems too much of a coincidence as the last time he was suffering which turned out to be when they did the area, however our shar pei has not been affected at all dosen't make sense if that were the problem. It anyone has experience with these symptoms please share, my furry little friend is as blind as a bat (further to that he is off to the eye specialist tomorrow after being seen at the emergency clinic tonight for two hours without a prognosis yet again)
Guest Ams
I've not had any experience with that and fingers crossed hope I never do. I really hope you are able to get something sorted for your Chow.

Nekhbet
http://agservaustralia.com/downloads/Py%20Fog%20MSDS.pdf take them the MSDS, sounds like he's suffered severe irritation from the solvents. The warning is not to allow any animals near the area until the fog has completely dissapeared, was it done at your place or next door?

The specialist didn't listen or acknowledge a word I said and instead has stipulated the issue is VKH syndrome so putting my faith and money into her prognosis so thankyou for that link and the info, it's an invaluable thing experience so I'm thankful for the help!!! Nekhbet
. VKH syndrome can be associated with other autoimmune disorders such as autoimmune polyglandular syndrome,2 hypothyroidism, Hashimoto thyroiditis, diabetes mellitus,3,4 and IgA nephropathy.5 Single reports of patients developing VKH syndrome after cutaneous injury have been noted, as well as 2 cases of this condition occurring after BCG therapy for melanoma and 1 case following surgery of metastatic malignant melanoma.6 Case reports indicate that even an indirect trauma in melanocyte-containing tissue may induce an inflammatory response within the eye, with Vogt-Koyanagi-Harada disease following a closed head trauma.7 Cases of this syndrome were reported to be linked to malignant lymphoma.8,9 http://emedicine.medscape.com/article/1118177-overview It could be due to the stress of the fogging, OR simply the chemicals causing an immune reaction. Biopsy seems to be the only way to know fingers crossed for your doggy!
Ted79
so another day another $566 and the biopsy results will be at the specialist on friday, meanwhile they did a blood test and the only thing of significance was a low white blood cell count so will have to wait till friday to see what the Orthomologist has to say regarding VKH and how he is reacting to treatment
