Could A Bag Of Dry Food Accidentally Left Open...

I have been fighting the dreaded tummy upset for a month or more !

My Vet says he is shocked at the amount of dogs with stomach problems lately

No one in the house feeds him treats or any food .... I made sure of that.

Ryan has had injections and pills and back to the Vet

last Sunday with a blood test ,the results all clear

He is being fed for the past month cooked human grade chicken mince and boiled rice along with the only dry he eats that horrible store bought my dog  ,

Ryan would not eat the Dry Science Hill Sensative Stomach .

Maybe I should leave it out and he may eat it ;)

So after this round of meds at the end of the week back to the Vet for a stool sample

and a chat about giardia and any other tummy bug that would cause

the straining and then the runs ;)

Oh no a month??? That is awful. Sashy's vet said the same thing that he is seeing dogs with upset tummy's very regularly lately. Hence the virus diagnosis. But thankfully the medication has worked for Sasha - we had a nice firm poo this morning

Could it be the chicken or the rice that is causing or prolonging this tummy upset? I can boil the chicken breast and give it to Sasha, but if I gave it to her raw we'd have severe problems.

Sounds like it may be a long haul (longer than it has already been) to find out your boys issues - I wish you luck with that. It's so frustrating and stressful.

I know with Sasha, for some reason raw meat is a trigger.

My girl (about to turn 10 next month) was the same, until I did a process by elimination early on. Mind you we cook their food with veggies, pasta / rice into a casserole (unless it's a bone they won't eat raw meat) and after extensive testing found two meats set her off - kangaroo and lamb. Most "beef mince" has kangaroo in it so I started specially ordering beef only from the pet warehouse. It's harder keeping her away from the lamb though as she loves it and seems to just know when it's on the menu for human consumption!
