Shazzapug
Why would you do a vasectomy instead of normal desexing?
Leema
Because vasectomies mean that the puppy can develop properly, while desexing alters hormones and so also development.

Lowenhart
Oh ok didnt know there was a difference between clamping and cutting seeing how they both do the same job. Desexing removes the testes, thus removes the hormones produced by them. A vasectomy just cuts the tubes that deliver sperm from the testes to the doodle. Both stop pups being produced, but one allows for the dog to utilise the hormones during growth and development. It's like having a cake and eating it too. Bilbo Baggins
It is a white shepherd pup only 5 months old. He is a surrender but does deserve the right to grow well.
Shazzapug
So at what age will you do a desexing? Ta
Bilbo Baggins
This is a 5 month old rescue. Our policy is the to desex all surrendered/acquired dogs. But 5 months is a bit young for a large breed. So just sorting the options.
