Kirislin
I've been looking at Picasa because it's supposed to be user friendly, they dont know me though It's got this wonderful straightening tool so I went back to some old pics and straightened them, or so I thought, I'd adjust each one and press apply but when I went to look at them in the normal storage, zoom browser, the changes haven't worked. What do I do to make them apply?
Frodo's mum
I love photoscape....if I can use it you will do great on it I'm hopeless when it comes to computer programs, but have found photoscape great
Kirislin
I got all excited when I discovered I can straighten pics in picasa cause I have had a problem sometimes getting it straight and haven't posted alot of otherwise nice photos cause they were a bit crooked. I really hope I can work this out cause there's some cuties I want to post but they're no good as they are. I have to correct them. If I can they've got a bit of aawwwwww factor. I'll look into photoscape too Edited January 27, 2011 by Kirislin
anniek
"Apply" is only applying it to the copy in picassa - you have to either "save" or "save as" somewhere.
persephone
Picasa straightening does work.. but leaves my pics fuzzy. It is the only bit about PICASA in which I am very disapppointed. yep picasa pics are copies... if you want to use the edited photos- you need to EXPORT them to somewhere... like the original folder..or a folder marked 'edited' or somewhere easy to find. Export them as ORIGINAL size and MAXIMUM resolution. Edited January 28, 2011 by persephone
Kirislin
thanks for the advice, it's worked. That's a pity about the pics looking fuzzy though cause that's how this whole thing started, I wanted sharp pics. Anyway I'll see how they look soon. persephone
yeah..but I just have smaller point&shoot cameras , that's possibly why :D
Kirislin
I dont think it's made mine any fuzzier that it already was. Here's Puck I was a bit heavy handed with saturation in the other one I fixed though. Wont post it here but it's in another thread.

Hi Kirislin, I installed Picasa 3 just 2 days ago, I now uninstalled yesterday as it didn't work for me either, Cheers Yap
Kirislin
read what Persephone wrote after I posted that, you have to export them. It works for me now. Try again, you might find it is worthwhile, I am starting to like it.
persephone
I can't get by without my.............. picasa Glad you have it working a bit better !
tlc
If I edit in picasa, and then want to save it I export. I also use picasa for making my pics smaller did you notice when you export, you can do it at 100% quality or you can bump it down significantly. All my posted pics on the forum are exported from picasa and reduced to 480 pixels. I do most of my editing in LR, then open picasa and export the edited pics back to my pictures at 480 which goes into the picasa folder and then upload to flickr or PB or where ever so they are not to big. Gee just read that back and it sounds like double dutch but makes sense to me

Kirislin
Nice one! thanks, that whole series I took that day was crooked and I straightened them all in Picasa. Thanks to you I had taken another a few months later being mindful to keep the camera level, but although I used it on a calendar I didn't think he looked as cute. I got alot closer though. You can see he makes a habit of peeping around corners, maybe I should change him name to Tom Edited January 31, 2011 by Kirislin
