I need to say again around about now that some of the stories I hear because of the awards are incredible. These are things we would never hear about or know if the awards didnt exist.

They give me the best excuse ever to get to know you all a little bit more personally and the opportunity Ive had to laugh, cry and chat and share your joy with you makes me really love the idea of having the chance to catch up in the flesh on the awards presentation day. Im genuinely disappointed that every single one who is nominated isnt able to make it to the event.

Its difficult to put into words the feelings I have coming into the home stretch but suffice to say I love my job!

Many of you shrug it off and tell me you have done nothing that anyone else wouldnt have done - not true. What you feel are small services impact hugely on the people and the dogs involved.

This year we allowed the people who nominated to ask their identity and what was said in the nomination was kept secret.

That allowed us and the judges to see what was being said but I would much rather the opportunity to read what people have said to the person being nominated. I think that its much better for them to know who is nominating them and what they have to say.Its certainly better for me to read them out loud I think most people who heard the nomination being read would say it was a pretty awesome experience so Im voting for the ability for those nominating in future to have the ability to keep it a secret removed.

Anyway to those who nominated someone even if you wouldnt let me tell them who you are and what you said - thank you. You helped to make it an enjoyable experience for all involved and we know it will only get better as the actual awards evening approaches.

For those who have been nominated I cant tell you enough how wonderful its been to get to know you and know your stories.I hope you use the fact you have been nominated to strutt your stuff , feel great and use it to promote your businesses, kennels and rescue services,your dogs and their breed.

Nominations still have a little way to go as I wait for those who Ive left messages with to call back and I chase down contact details which were missing from the nomination forms but they are almost done and will be ready to send off to the judges and ready to be listed in the program and the website by the end of the week.
