Muttaburra
Sorry to rain on your parade Bayview - Roland Reserve, not so big and overpopulated at times, tidal variations also limiting access. South Mona Vale Headland, - fine, except for a treacherous cliff, that ball chasing dogs and adventurous dogs have lost their lives to. Manly Queenscliff - over populated. Narrabeen - Progress park, Garden Street, - No fencing alongside a busy road, the creek filled with all sorts of nasties. North Narrabeen - Deep Creek Reserve - Infested with Paralysis Ticks - very exposed in summer heat. Come on Manly and Pittwater Councils....... Dog recreation (people recreation) needs to get better than this ! :birthday:
DURNSTEIN
Has anyone been to these Sydney Inner West Beaches or any other in this area? • Hunters Hill - Tarban Creek Reserve, Time restrictions apply • Huntleys Point - Gladesville Reserve, Time restrictions apply Can you go swimming with the dogs at these beaches and know what the time restrictions are? Clyde
Tarban Creek gives dogs ear infections, it's really just a dirty creek that I wouldnt allow my dogs to swim in. Has some good walks though.
halfthewords
If you check tide times and go when it's low, Clontarf is excellent. It has a poo bin and a bin but no water apart from the ocean obviously. On weekdays it's virtually empty but on weekends it can get very busy unless you go in the evening. There is an offleash dog beach across from John Fisher Park at Curl Curl that is almost never crowded. The water is part of the lagoon system so they advise people don't swim but mine swim in there regularly and no ear infections or anything. freundhund
This article also missed the Airport Beach at Kymeenah, just of General Holmes Drive, also missed out Wanda Beach which is sign posted for dogs and they can swim between certain hours in summmer. Can anyone else add missing or known beaches?? I have heard there are some in the eastern suburbs does anyone know.
corvus
The beach in Bundeena is open to dogs in certain hours, and there's a dog beach in Kurnell where dogs are allowed off leash any time, but it's not very big. Easy for dogs to run and somehow end up on the road. We go to Wollongong for dog beaches. They are nicer and we can go any time of the day, any day of the week. The hours at Wanda have recently been changed so dogs can go on weekends after 4pm and before 10am.

Haven't been to either. But I have been down to the beach near Callan Park in the inner west Rozelle area. It's small but quite nice subject to tide. Better to take them swimming when it's high tide. The beach is between King George's Park and The Point Road if you walk from King Georges Park along the coast towards Point Rd you'll see the little beaches where dogs are frequently swimming. Water is usually pretty clean. Callan Park Map Otherwise Bicentennial Park in Annandale is pretty popular although I find Callan Park cleaner.
