Guest english.ivy
I've fed Badger raw minced chicken frames since I bought him home, nearly eight months ago. No issues. Always bought them from the same supplier. Tuesday he threw half of it up as he was growling at Ivy and he ate the rest. I thought nothing of it. Next day he ate it all, no throwing up. Yesterday he ate it and threw it right up, same today. He won't eat it again [though Ivy wanted to but I didn't let her] so I pick it up, while I felt like puking myself. Anyway yesterday and today I gave him dry food instead as he needs to eat, fine and dandy. Kept it all down both days. He gets bones and never vomits. So he is just throwing up chicken mince. Do I stop feeding it to him? Do I switch him to lamb meat, which is what Ivy gets.
dogfan
Has it gone off perhaps? Or maybe he's stomach can't handle it for some reason?
dancinbcs
Dogs digest bone far better if they have to grind it up themselves. Digestion starts when they start to chew. Feeding it minced makes a lot of dogs ill. No idea why your dog would have tolerated it up until now but I would try feeding the whole chicken frames (with the wishbone removed). If he eats it again (yuck I know!) he's regurgitating and usually nothing to worry about. It happens now and again when they eat their food too quickly, etc. We feed our DDB puppy raw meaty bones and he still manages to eat these too quickly sometimes. Golden Rules
Dogs digest bone far better if they have to grind it up themselves. Digestion starts when they start to chew. As the dog chews, it produces saliva and enzymes to break the food down in it's digestive track far more efficiently than a dog wolfing down a great lump of minced chicken bones for it to just sit in it's stomach. Chicken bones are also 'rubbery' which are perfect for cleaning dogs teeth, better I think than most other bones. Feeding minced chicken frames to a dog is like feeding pureed meals to elderly people with no teeth! Except the dog has teeth and they are meant to be used! Off my band wagon now .... Tried feeing whole frames but he thinks it's a good idea to swollow them whole. He's a Pointer, so he's a big boy. He ate a turkey leg well the other day but they are a little expensive to keep feeding as a meal. Aso - he throws it up and doesn't look that keen to eat it again. He sits down and waits for me to clean it up and feed him something else. While I fight off a Belgian who would LOVE to eat it for him.
Guest english.ivy
Just going by what my breeder suggests to feed but I'm thinking now Badg is telling me it's time to change what we feed. They do get plenty of bones, when I'm home to watch and supervise. I don't feed just 'slops'.

Crisovar
Have fed minced frames here for years, haven't had a dog not tolerate them, had a couple of up chucks over the years, either from bolting their food or just a passing tummy upset.
