Obedience Northern Adelaide

Hey,

Im looking at restarting obedience classes with my 7 month old again in Feb. Im just looking for somewhere close to where we live now rather then our old area.

Im aware of:-

Para districts

Gawler and District obedience

Northern Districts Kennel and Obedience

Gepps Cross Dog training Centre (this is about 30minutes from where I live though)

Im just wondering if anyone has any feedback on these Obedience places? The place I went to previously has used the check collars and my boy loses his mind if im trying to train him with food. Im going to call find out what method they all use but wanted to get some ideas on them first.

Feel free to PM me :D

Thanks in advance

I'm not sure but they'd probably all use similar methods.

I haven't trained at any of those clubs, so I can't really help. :D

There's also a obedience club at Munno Para, not sure how far that's from you.

ETA- Though clubs might suggest using food as a reward or check chains as an aid, nobody is going to force you to do so. :)

I have trained at Para's although it was a few years ago and found it to be very rewarding.

As far as I'm concerned, it's up to you what collar you decide to train your dog in, and your choice of what positive rewards you use as well.

Some things work with some dogs but not others. You have to decide for yourself what works best for your dog and what your comfortable with.

If you find a club that will only allow you to use one type of collar and reward, then I would suggest you find another club.
